The Writing Website

Creative tips for writers

I absolutely adore writing fiction (mostly fantasy). I’m not published yet, because I haven’t finished many books, but I’ve had quite a bit of experience in writing and know it can be really hard to stick with it, especially when you have another job, or are at school or university. My blog has some ideas to help you become the best writer you can be. I’ve also come up with some ideas for when you’ve got writer’s block (a feeling I am very familiar with). I’d also say, if you’re still at school, if there’s a creative writing club you can go to, definitely go! One of my best books started at my school’s creative writing club.

Most of these ideas are written for a book that has already been started, but they can be changed to be used for a book that you want to write but haven’t begun, or as short scene/story exercises, or to simply help with writing skills. I should also point out that this blog is about fiction books. That said, some tips may be able to be tweaked slightly to fit non-fiction books.

I created this website because I LOVE writing and want other people to be able to realise their potential.

My blog has ideas for inspiration, motivation and how to improve your writing skills. I really hope it will be able to help your writing career!

My friend Bella (who I sometimes write with) has made a website for our books, called Somellenna. Click here to visit it!

It’s only polite to mention that I obviously couldn’t have done this on my own. To find out about the main people who have helped me in my writing career, check the Acknowledgements page!

If you want to give feedback, or ask a question, but don’t want to comment publicly, you can email me at writing-website@bat400.com or fill out the contact form!

If commenting on posts, readers are reminded that people of all ages can read comments — please keep your language and writing family-friendly!

About the Blogger

I’ve been writing since I was very young and started my first proper book when I was about eight or nine years old. Almost ten years later I’m still really enjoying it. Although I’m not perfect at writing (and it’s reassuring that no one is), I do have some experience of what things work (or don’t work) for me and I’ve written some of them on this blog to inspire you to keep writing. I hope you find it helpful!
